Khunti (IANS) — Jharkhand police, Acting on a strategic tip-off recovered a massive haul of illegal ‘doda’ (opium raw material) and arrested two suspects in the Arki police station area.
The Operation
Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo initiated the action after receiving intelligence about contraband hidden at a residence in Babu Toli, Naudhi village. Following his orders, Station House Officer Praveen Kumar Tiwari led a specialized team to cordon off the house at approximately 1 p.m.
Seizure and Arrests
During the search, police apprehended Ankit Hajam (alias Saju Thakur), who confessed to running an illegal trade with his brother, Lalu Hajam. Based on his statement, officers recovered:

330.21 kg of doda packed in 21 sacks.

The contraband carries an estimated market value of ₹49.53 lakh.
Police subsequently tracked down and arrested the second accused, Lalu Hajam. Authorities have registered a case under the NDPS Act, 1985.
Ongoing Crackdown
This raid follows another successful operation on March 25 in the Jariagarh area, where police seized 39.79 kg of doda and 6.320 kg of opium valued at ₹36 lakh. In that instance, officers sent four individuals to jail.
