Jamshedpur, Jan. 16: Jharkhand State Khadi and Gram Udyog Board Chairman, Jainandu said, Khadi clothes will be made more attractive for which preparations are on and soon we will tie up with various designing institutes.
“We are in talks with NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) and other institutes within a month which would improve further the quality so that youth and more people get attracted towards Khadi for which a designer and specialist would also be appointed�, said chairman.
Jainandu further said National Khadi Mahotsav will be held from 5 to 17 Feburary at Moharabadi ground in Ranchi.
The Mahotsav will boast of 500 stalls where Aadhar, Vote ID card, health camp, ATM facility, LIC, Nabard along with several other government departments will participate. Talking to the media persons on Saturday at Bistupur, chairman informed, the Mahotsav will also host Chhau dance, Bihu and martial arts along with local dance of several states.
Jainandu said Chief minister on Friday allotted a space of 6500 sq ft at Ratu Road, near Aakashvani in Ranchi, where the Board will set up a modern office, a 4000 sq ft Khadi emporium, 3500 sq ft godown with an investment of Rs five crore which would be the biggest emporium of the state and would be ready by October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi.
Jainandu said Bistupur Bhawan (near traffic light) will be made systematic and fully computerized which is on the priority list. Three Khadi parks in Amda, Rajnagar (Seraikelal-Kharswan), and Deoghar will be ready for inauguration by the end of this fiscal while a similar park in Dumka will be completed in a year time, he said.
