Jamshedpur, Jan. 16: Darkness will no longer haunt you near Rahargora Chowk and Gadhras Durga Temple. High-mast towers, installed by Tata Steel, will now guide your way after sunset, preventing the pathways from plunging into darkness.
Powered with LED lights, the two high-masts one each at Rahargora Chowk and Gadhra were inaugurated today by the BJP MP from Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato.
Biren Bhuta, Chief, CSR, SN Nandi, Head, Water & Civil Infrastructure (CSR), were present on the occasion along with other team members.
Installation of high-mast towers is part of a community centric project undertaken by Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), one of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arms of Tata Steel.
Under the project, in the coming days, Tata Steel will set up around 13 more high-mast towers, which will come up at a number of important locations and road crossings in Jamshedpurs peripheral villages.
Locals are hopeful that installation of such high-mast lights will go a long way in ensuring road safety.
