Jamshedpur, Jan. 16: It’s a mixed bag for parents as city schools announced results for admission. The private English medium schools in Jamshedpur were buzzing with activity as most of the schools announced results for a kindergarten seat on Saturday.

Loyola School, Carmel Junior College (Sonari), Rajendra Vidyalaya, Motilal Nehru Public School (Sakchi), DAV Public School (Bistupur), DBMS English School (Kadma), Sacred Heart Convent School to name a few declared the results on Saturday. Some uploaded it online on their websites while others put up results in the notice board of the main gate.

The result came as cheers for some parents while others were disappointed with the outcome. Parents whose child got admission to the school were delighted and said luck matters while others it was a long journey back home.

‘Schools alone shouldn’t rely on lottery as merit should also be considered for admission’, said RN Singh, resident of Contractors Area in Bistupur whose son didn’t got admission in any of the three schools for which he bought the form.

Pankaj Ojha, a resident of Adityapur, was in high spirits as his son got admission in Loyola School.

‘Since the day forms were made available I was trying to find out a way to have my son admitted to Loyola or DBMS but there seemed to be no hope as thousands of children were in line. So I just filled up the forms and left it to the almighty, today morning as I went to the school I found the name of my son on the list which has made this the best day of my life’, Mr. Ojha added.

For parents whose child did not get admission to any of the applied school said merit should also be considered along with the lottery system.

Brij Kishore bought forms for six schools but his daughter failed to make it to any of the schools. ‘I am disappointed as my daughter could not make it to any of the six schools applied for the admission. I just don’t know what do from here’.

On Saturday, about 40 English schools declared results to more than 8000 seats.
