Jamshedpur: Kerala Public School (KPS), Kadma, celebrated Hand Wash Day from April 13 to 17 with a series of engaging activities to promote hygiene and health awareness among students.
The Pre-Primary section marked the occasion with great enthusiasm, focusing on the importance of proper hand hygiene in preventing illnesses. The celebration began with a handwashing song performed by students, followed by a poem recited by an LKG student highlighting cleanliness. UKG students shared thoughtful quotations and presented another song, making the programme lively and meaningful.
Students were taught effective handwashing techniques, emphasizing the use of soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Classrooms were decorated with colourful posters demonstrating the steps of proper handwashing. Children also participated in practical handwashing drills under the guidance of their teachers.
The event featured a smart board presentation, including a PPT, songs, stories, an assembly presentation, an act, and a quiz conducted by students.
Principal Sharmila Mukherjee and Headmistress Alamelu Ravishankar appreciated the efforts of students and teachers, reaffirming the school’s commitment to promoting healthy habits and overall well-being through such initiatives.
