Karim city celebrates International Women’s Day

Jamshedpur, March 8: The Women’s Cell of Karim City College organized a programme to observe International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2014. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Mrs. Chandra Sharan, Senior Manager, Communication, Corporate Safely and Health and Convener of Swati, the Women Empowerment Cell of Tata Steel. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Md. Reyaz, the officiating principal of the college. The coordinator of the women’s Cell, Dr. Kauser Tasneem presented a report of the cell’s activities-competitions for students and a lecture talk programme organized in the month of January.

Mrs. Chandna Sharan emphasized on the necessity of women’s participation in the social and political sphere and on their significant role in up keeping traditions and values. She conducted an interac- tive session inviting questions from students or how to manage their lives and identities as women.

The programme also included a song sung by Harwinder Kaur and a skit presented by the Drama Club of KCC’s cultural form “SPArC”.
