Jamshedpur MP to inaugurate fair today
Jamshedpur, Aug 25: The historic Shree Bala Ganapati Vilas, established in 1919, is celebrating its 107th Ganesh Puja Mahotsav with grandeur and devotion from August 27 to September 14, 2025.
The celebrations began on August 26 (Tuesday) with a cultural evening and the inauguration of the pandal. Chief Guest, former Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, accompanied by dignitaries including social worker Shekhar Dey, BJP District President Sudhanshu Ojha inaugurated the pandal.

On August 27 (Wednesday), the rituals will commence at 9:30 AM with Kalash Sthapana and Pran Pratishtha, led by former Union Minister Arjun Munda as the chief guest, with MLA Saryu Roy, MLA Purnima Sahu, and other dignitaries in attendance. The mela will be inaugurated at 6:00 PM by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato as chief guest, joined by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, former Health Minister Banna Gupta, former MP Suman Mahato, Ichagarh MLA Sabita Mahato, Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi, and others.

From August 28 to September 13, daily rituals will include Suprabhatam at 5:30 AM, Vedic chanting, abhishekam, sahasranam puja, homam, and pushpanjali with aarti. On September 5 and 12, special Kumkum puja will be held for married women. The rituals will be conducted by Pandit Shashibhushan Shastri from Andhra Pradesh, with devotional music by the Sri Venkateshwara Group.

The mela will host attractions such as giant electric swings, ranger rides, tsunami swing, toy trains, Mickey Mouse rides, Bengal terracotta art, Kanpur utensils, artificial jewelry, and Bengal Fine Arts stalls. The highlights will be the Ranger and Tsunami swings, expected to draw large crowds.
On September 13 (Saturday), a grand community feast (Mahabhandara) will be organized, serving around 8,000 devotees. The following day, September 14, a Narayan Seva at Antoday Ashram, Bistupur will be held.
The celebrations will conclude on September 14 evening with the Ganesh Visarjan procession starting from Rankini Mandir, Kadma, passing through Kadma police station, Gopal Maidan, and Bistupur, before immersion at Kharkai River. The procession will feature Andhra Pradesh’s traditional nadaswaram music, cultural tableaux, fireworks, Shiv Tandav dance, folk performances, and DJs.
The trustees and organizers of Shree Bala Ganapati Vilas have appealed to the people of Jamshedpur to participate wholeheartedly and make the 107th Ganesh Mahotsav a grand success.
