Jamshedpur, Oct 15: Junior doctors at MGM Hospital have been on a hunger strike since 6 AM on Tuesday, initially leading to the closure of outpatient department (OPD) services. The situation escalated until around noon, when patient dissatisfaction prompted a resumption of OPD services.

Following the intervention of MGM superintendent Dr. Shikha Rani, senior doctors stepped in to manage the OPD, providing relief to patients awaiting care. The junior doctors are boycotting work as part of their hunger strike, which is set to continue until 6 PM on Monday.

This strike is supported by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), as junior doctors express their anger over the lack of action in the murder case of a junior doctor in Kolkata.

The Federation of All India Medical Association is backing this protest, highlighting the urgent need for attention to the safety of medical professionals.
