Jamshedpur, Jan 24: Residents of Dhatkidih Medical Bustee on Sunday afternoon blocked the road in front of Bistupur police station demanding the arrest of the assailants of July Ghosh whose body was found lying on her bed at Dhatkidih under Bistupur police station area on January 3 night.
The protestors, mostly women put up road blockade after protesting at the police station demanding the arrest of one Subham Mukhi and three others suspected to be involved in the murder.

The protestors were waiting for the senior superintendent of police, M Tamil Vanan to reach to the Bistupur police station, but as the latter did not turn up by 2 pm, the agitated slum dwellers had resorted to the road blockade. This led to disruption of the vehicular communication through the main road. But the blockade was cleared within half-an-hour after deputy superintendent of police (Composite Control Room) Arvind Kumar arrived at the scene and promised the protestors that they would arrest the assailants soon.

Widow of liquor mafia, Kallu Ghosh, July (38) was found murdered on the bed of her residence in the Dhatkidih Medical Bustee in Bistupur on the night of January 3. But the police have not been able to detect the case. The police have been harping on one a single-theory that someone very close in the victim’s family might have committed the murder.

One of the protestors said that the victim’s family members as well as others in the slum have time and again told the police that the murder might have conspired by Subham Mukhi and executed by his three associates, but the police are not paying heed to this.
