Jugsalai Residents Confront Municipal Council Over Chronic Water Crisis

Jamshedpur: Driven by growing frustration over a prolonged water crisis, Jugsalai residents cornered Jugsalai Municipal Council Executive Officer Sandeep Paswan. The residents handed him a memorandum demanding immediate intervention and the swift restoration of a regular water supply to the affected zones.

The memorandum specifically highlights the severe drinking water shortages crippling the Jugsalai Gaushala area and the Shafiganj locality, where residents have battled for a permanent solution for four years. Locals urged the civic authorities to guarantee an uninterrupted water supply to Shafiganj as quickly as possible. Members of the Shaheed Thakurji Pathak Welfare Society, representatives from the RSS Youth Wing, local BJP leaders, and social activists all joined the delegation to submit the demands.

Following the meeting, the delegation inspected the ongoing pipeline work and questioned workers to assess progress. While the workers claimed that water would flow within the next two to three days, Executive Officer Sandeep Paswan offered a different timeline. Paswan stated that officials are aiming to restore the supply within a week, but cautioned that the work could take additional time to complete.

Residents expressed deep anger over the situation, noting that they currently must rely entirely on water tankers to meet their daily needs. They hit back at the administration’s continued delays, stating that the prolonged hardship has made daily life unbearable.
