Jamshedpur, July 24: MLA Mangal Kalindi met Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal for redressal to the escalating drinking water crisis in Jugsalai. During the meeting, the MLA highlighted the severe drinking water shortage and complained against the uranium-contaminated water being released by UCIL through the drainage system thereby raising health hazards of the Jugsalai residents. Kalindi requested the Deputy Commissioner to engage with the Odisha government for releasing water into the Kharkai River to alleviate the crisis. He reported that the Deputy Commissioner had already communicated the issue to the Odisha government and dispatched a team to investigate the situation at Jugsalai Kusum Ghat.
Additionally, the MLA urged the government to cover the educational expenses of Vaishnavi Mahato, an orphan. The Deputy Commissioner assured that appropriate action would be taken in this matter.
Kalindi expressed hope for a swift resolution to the water crisis.
