Jamshedpur, Feb. 2: A magic button brought Jubilee Park alive on the eve of Founders Day, with thousands of fairy lights twinkling in memory of industrialist and visionary Jamshetji Nusserwanji Tata.
N Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Sons, switched on the illumination at the Founder’s statue in Jubilee Park in the presence of Ratan Tata, Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons.

Also present on the occasion were Tata Steel MD TV Narendran, Tata Steel Group executive director (finance and corporate) Koushik Chatterjee, Tata Steel president (TQM and steel business) Anand Sen, VP Sunil Bhaskaran and SD Tripathy and other senior officials of the company.

The park will be open for public viewing from March 2 to 5, 2017 from 6 pm to 10 pm. Behind the bright lights were the nimble fingers and imagination of visualisers and light men from Chandannagar, Bengal. They have been behind the Founders Day show for the past three decades, and this year, they took 45 days to create the magic. One of this years most delightful visual treats was the fountains myriad hues. Working models also caught the attraction of visitors.

Illumination at Jubilee Park is always a must-see for thousands of steel city residents. This year, the lights focus on digital activities of Tata Steel. Lights also brought alive a variety of topics such as energy conservation and climate change as well as folk lore from life of Tata.

With the support of the citizens of Jamshedpur, a spectacular pageantry will be organised. It will be flagged off by N Chandrasekaran, chairman, Tata Sons, in front of the Founders Statue near Main Post Office, Bistupur.

The pageantry will include tableaus from Associate Companies, Social Organisations, Jamshedpur Armed Force (JAP) and Rapid Action Force (RAF). Approximately 2000 participants will take part in the pageantry.

This year also there will be special laser shows and musical fountain from March 3 to 5 with usual charges as applicable. A sound and light laser show, in the backdrop of a song chronicling the development of Jamshedpur according to J.N. Tata’s vision, will be held every hour from 6.30pm onwards for four days from March 2 at the picturesque Beldih Lake to commemorate Founder’s Day.

Tata Steel subsidiary Jusco is arranging the 4-minute laser light display at the lake in the Dhatkidih area of Bistupur as per a time-honoured tradition that began in 2015 to pay homage to the founder of the steel city.
The theme of this year founders day celebration is digitalisation.

Several LED screens will be installed with info on digitalization, the places where it has been adopted by the company to help promote digitalisation among the people of Jamshedpur.

Major islands, parks, roundabouts have been illuminated along with the laser show at Beldih lake, which received very good response last year. Simultaneous illumination of Bhetia Park, Kadma, Golmuri Park, Eye Hospital, Sakchi, Beldih Lake, Jayanti Sarovar (inside Jubilee Park), Sir Dorabji Tata Park along with Jubilee Park for wider access to everyone in the city will be done.
