Ranchi: Jharkhand State Cricket Association today terminated the membership of Pravin Singh, a member and IPS Officer. The decision was taken after a resolution to the effect was passed during the annual general meeting of the state cricket body held in Dhanbad.
Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, the JSCA secretary Rajesh Verma said the membership of Pravin Singh was revoked on charges of indiscipline against him. JSCA had made charges of indiscipline against Pravin Singh on several counts. The latter was accused of conducting Latehar District Cricket Association violating norms, threatening JSCA management committee member Sanjay Singh and lodging FIR by misusing his power.
Pravin Singh had earlier sent a preliminary reply to the show-cause notice served to him by the JSCA.
Meanwhile, members of Jharkhand Sports Bachao staged a dharna at Randhir Verma Chowk, Dhanbad today. The outfit leader Sunil Singh accused JSCA president Amitabh Choudhary of misusing his influence in the organization. He said Pravin Singh was driven out of the JSCA for contesting against Choudhary in the JSCA election last time.
Asked about the opposition, Amitabh Choudhary said the agitators had no links with the JSCA. He said a murder case was lodged against one of the agitators and that he did not want to talk about such people.
