Jamshedpur: Beera Devi, 75, wife of Mamraj Agarwal and mother of journalist Shankar Agarwal, passed away on Sunday following a three month long illness.
She was cremated at Shiv Ghat, Jugsalai, in the presence of a large number of family friends and well-wishers.
She is survived by five sons and three daughters.
Shankar Agarwal is a senior journalist associated with The Avenue Mail for the last many years.
Many city dignitaries including members of various political parties and social and cultural organizations attended the funeral ceremony.
Journalists from across the city too, condoled the death and visited the Agarwals’ residence.
