Jolt to JMM as Sukhram�s nomination put on hold

Jamshedpur, Nov 19: JMM received an electoral jolt when its Chakradharpur Vidhan Sabha seat candidate Sukhram Oraon�s nomination was put on hold because of failure to comply with details of two cases pending against him out of which the details of one has been provided, the other remaining unmentioned.

The JMM gambled with its hustings chances when the party dropped its sitting legislator from the Chakradharpur seat Sashi Bhushan Samad and gambled for Sukhram Oraon. Samad, deprived of a JMM ticket joined AJSU Party and obtained a ticket to contest the Assembly polls.  But Sukhram�s nomination has been put on hold for the time being because of his criminal records. The Election Commission has called for his papers pertaining to the past two criminal cases against him. Oraon has already filed the detail of one case while he has to file the detail of one more such case.  He has been given time to file the detail by 11 am on Wednesday, November 20. The decision on Sukhram Oraon�s nomination will be taken only after the record is filed. Till then, his nomination will remain on hold.
