District administration organizes workshop for BLOs

Jamshedpur, Nov 19: East Singhbhum district administration organized a one-day orientation programme on Booth App at XLRI Auditorium on Tuesday. Booth level officers of Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West Assembly constituencies participated in the workshop. Deputy Election Commissioner of Election Commission of India (ECI) Sudip Jain chaired the programme. Other officials present during the workshop included Jharkhand Chief Election Officer (CEO) Vinay Kumar Choubey, ECI secretary Arvind Anand, additional secretary Rakesh Kumar, East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner (DC) cum District Returning Officer Ravi Shankar Shukla and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anoop Birtharay.

Addressing the participants, Jain said the credit of successfully conducting the elections in a populous country goes to the booth level officers. There are over 10 lakh polling booths in the country. Still the elections are conducted in a smooth manner, he said.
Jain urged the BLOs to ensure that all voters exercise their voting rights. He said the voter slips should be distributed among voters without fail.
The officials launched an awareness calendar for voters and a video song �Aao Chalo Karein� for educating voters on this occasion.
Jharkhand CEO said the BLOs had played a vital role in spreading awareness among voters. He said the Booth App would be used in 10 Assembly constituencies across nine districts of Jharkhand in the upcoming Assembly polls.
The DC of East Singhbhum said the district administration was making all possible preparations to ensure free and fair polls. He congratulated the BLOs for their good performance and motivated them to keep up the good work.
