Jamshedpur, May 14: May 2024 edition of Johar Haat, a Tata Steel Foundation initiative kicked off today at Prakriti Vihar, Kadma, Jamshedpur.
This cycle of Johar Haat is themed on “Handicraft Meadow” a vibrant market place celebrating artisanal craftmanship. Nestled amidst lush greenery, it offers a diverse array of handmade treasures, from intricate cane craft to dry flower home décor. Visitors can immerse themselves in the creativity of local artisans, discovering unique pieces that tell stories of tradition and innovation.
Whether browsing for gifts or indulging in a bit of retail therapy, the edition invites all to experience the beauty of handmade artistry in a picturesque setting.
This edition witnesses participation of 2 states-Jharkhand & Meghalaya-representing 7 tribes-Kharwar, Kashi, Ho, Jaintia, Bhumij, Munda and Santhal-with total 21 participants.
During this cycle we also have workshops on Cane Crafts making, a session on Jute craft key-chains making, and the Tribal Cuisine in this month will serve the delicacies which will help to “beat the heat” of the summer.
