JNAC tops Jharkhand in trade licence revenue collection

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has collected a revenue of Rs 12.80 lakh by issuing trade licence to 1169 traders of the city from 1st May to 31st May.

The huge collection was made possible by the intensive awareness campaign for trade licence launched by the JNAC in the city. A flying squad was also set up by the civic body with the view to crack down on businesses running without licence, said Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, JNAC.

The Special Officer also attributed the success of the campaign to the active participation of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Jamshedpur Chamber of Commerce. The two trade bodies helped JNAC spread awareness among traders and also held camps to get trade licence issued. This year, JNAC has left Ranchi Municipal Corporation behind by a margin of Rs 1.41 lakh in revenue collection.

Kumar thanked the traders for their support and appealed to them to deposit the trade licence fee on a regular basis.

The JNAC City Manager Ravi Shankar Bharati conducted a surprise inspection of trade licence in Sakchi Refugee Market today. A sum of Rs 8,000 was collected from eight traders, sources said.
