JNAC seeks traders’ support in drive against plastic

Jamshedpur, Feb 11: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has sought the cooperation of city traders in making the ongoing campaign against plastic a grand success.

JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar urged all city traders to support the drive against plastic with full vigour. He made a clarion call to the traders at a meeting convened here Friday at JNAC office in Sakchi. The meeting was also attended by members of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Jamshedpur Chamber of Commerce.

Kumar said the traders should ensure that the prohibited plastics are not kept in store or sold at the shops. He said the roadside vendors would be made aware on the hazards of using plastic and would be asked to follow the government guidelines in this regard. He said every shop keeper will have to keep blue and green dustbins in front of their shops. Penalty would be imposed on those not complying with this order, he said.

The meeting was also attended by Ravi Bharati, Christina Kachchap, Anil Modi, Harvinder Singh Mantu, Sonu Bindra and Pankaj.
