Jamshedpur, Mar 26: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has sealed a building located in Sakchi SNP Area (Holding Number 9), citing it as unsafe for public safety. The action was taken due to unauthorized construction of a basement on the ground floor without proper approvals.
Following a complaint, JNAC had issued a notice to the building owner on March 22, instructing an immediate halt to the construction work. However, despite the warning, the construction continued, posing a serious safety risk. JNAC officials confirmed that no official permission was obtained for basement excavation, nor were the required building standards met.
Taking strict action under Section 437(3 & 4) of the Jharkhand Municipality Act, 2011, JNAC sealed the structure and ordered an immediate halt to further work. Officials also revealed that this building was already listed among 21 buildings flagged last year for deviations from approved building plans.
A JNAC official stated, “Public safety is our top priority. Any unauthorized or unsafe construction will face strict action as per the law.”
