Geography students of Jamshedpur Women’s University visit Uttarakhand on educational tour

Jamshedpur, Mar 26: A group of 65 postgraduate students from the Geography Department of Jamshedpur Women’s University successfully completed an educational tour to Uttarakhand from March 17 to March 23, 2025. The tour aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the geographical, ecological and cultural aspects of the Himalayan region.

During the tour, the students visited Nainital, Kausani and Ranikhet, where they conducted field studies on topography, climate change, regional economy, agriculture and water resource management. They explored Naini Lake, Naini Devi Temple, Golu Devta Temple, Sarita Tal, Anasakti Ashram and Kausani Tea Estate, among other key locations.

The students observed the tea production process in Kausani and were fascinated by the breath-taking views of Nanda Devi Peak. They also studied the impact of tourism on local ecology and economy.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta praised the initiative, stating, “This educational tour provided students with an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. Such experiences are invaluable for academic growth.”

The trip was guided by Preeti (Geography Department), Aarti Kumari and Amrita Kumari (Head of Philosophy Department). Students found the trip highly insightful and beneficial for their academic and personal development.
