JNAC mulling over ways to end road jams on Straight Mile Road

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee officials conducted a survey of Straight Mile Road in Sakchi on Thursday to explore ways to prevent road jam. Leading the team, Sanjay Kumar, Special Officer, inspected the stretch of the road passing by Sanjay Market from Patta Bazar to Baradwari.

He sought suggestions from local traders and shopkeepers on creating no parking or tow away zone on both side of the road.

During the survey, it was found that 22 vendors sit on the roadside to sell leaf plates, datoon and other forest products.

Majority of the vendors were women. They demanded an alternative location for selling their products in case they are removed from their current place. Kumar said the women vendors and traders would be provided financial help through self help groups.
