Jamshedpur: A flying squad of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee visited Bagunhatu and conducted an inquiry into alleged encroachment of a government plot in the area. The officials, City Manager Ravi Bharati, Shakeel Anwar Mehandi and Kanika Saha, also inquired about the person who built a boundary wall around the said plot. However, no information could be obtained about the encroacher. As a result, the said wall was demolished, sources said.
Sources said the JNAC officials had conducted a similar inquiry three days ago. The officials talked to local residents and tried to find out the names of people who had constructed the boundary wall. But no one came forward to reveal the identity of encroachers. Several women told the officials a similar illegal structure was demolished by the local residents recently. The said plot has been earmarked for the construction of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana housing units.
Special Officer Sanjay Kumar directed the City Manager and Assistant Engineer concerned to install an information board on the said plot to make it clear that the land belongs to government and that it has been earmarked for the PMAY project.
