JMM leader ups ante against companies on forced ESS

Jamshedpur: District Jharkhand Mukti Morcha president Ramdas Soren today announced to launch a campaign for workers being allegedly forced to opt for early separate scheme (ESS) in local companies.

He said a well-known private company was forcing its employees to opt for ESS, thereby causing exploitation of the workers.

Addressing a meeting of JMM held at Kadma, Soren said, Our party is committed to the cause of workers. We will not let any company take such arbitrary steps against the interests of the workers. We will take necessary measures to make sure the workers are not forced to opt out of employment in the name of golden handshake.

Soren threatened to identify company officials who were actively involved in the alleged act of forcing workers to opt for ESS. He expressed worries over the current state of affairs pertaining to industrial workers as well as daily wage earners across the district.

He alleged that most of the works in many local companies was being assigned to contract workers employed on a temporary basis.

Among those present at the meeting included Rodiya Soren, Pramod Lal, Mahavir Murmu, Raj Lakra, Ramesh Murmu, Pintu Lal and Arun Prasad.
