Jamshedpur: On the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Mahabir Murmu paid floral tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution at Ambedkar Chowk, Sakchi. The commemorative event saw participation from several local leaders and members of the community.
Speaking at the gathering, Mahabir Murmu highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong fight against casteism, discrimination, and social inequality. “To maintain social justice in the country, we must eliminate all forms of inequality and discrimination from our lives,” he stated. He further emphasized that Baba Saheb’s life journey—from facing severe social barriers in his early years to attaining 32 academic degrees—continues to be a symbol of strength and perseverance for millions.
Murmu noted that Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions, especially as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, have laid the foundation for a just and inclusive society. “His vision of social democracy, equal opportunity, and upliftment of the weaker sections remains more relevant than ever,” he added.
The event also saw the presence of several prominent local figures including Dalgovindo Lohara, Nandu Sarkar, Jharna Paul, Sabita Das, Manoj Kushwaha, Hari Pandit, Bapi Malgop, Manoj Tanti, and Durga Prasad Hansda, among others, who collectively paid homage and reflected on Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.
