Jamshedpur, Apr 14: The 56th annual Urs Sharif of Hazrat Badshah Abdur Rahim, popularly known as Chuna Shah Baba, will begin on April 17 in Bistupur, Jamshedpur. The spiritual event is being held under the guidance of Gaddi Nashin Taj Ahmad Sahab and Sarparast Hidayatullah Khan.
Haji S.M. Qutubuddin, General Secretary of the Dargah Committee, Chuna Shah Baba, informed that the Urs begins every year on the 18th of Shawwal (Hijri calendar) with Quran recitation. This year, the Qur’an Khwani will commence at 8 a.m. on April 17.
On April 18, after Isha prayers, Islamic scholars and religious leaders will present speeches and Na’at recitations. The keynote speaker will be Maulana Zaheer Warsi Misbahi from Kolkata. On April 19, the day will start at 10 a.m. with Chadar and Sandal procession, followed by Chadar Poshi at 1:20 p.m., Langer (community meal) at 2 p.m. and a Qawwali night at 9 p.m. On April 20, Langer and another evening of Qawwali will continue. The concluding event, Mahfil-e-Sham, will be held on April 21 at 9 p.m., featuring performances by Sahil Ali Sabri Qawwal Party from Gujarat and Jani Warsi Qawwal Party from Bihar.
The Dargah Committee has appealed to all devotees to attend the Urs Sharif and attain spiritual blessings, urging everyone to refrain from un-Islamic activities and maintain religious decorum.
