JMM and Congress delaying lease renewal for election funds: Raghuvar Das

Jamshedpur: BJP national vice president Raghuvar Das on Saturday alleged that the state government was deliberately delaying lease renewal of iron ore mines of Tata Steel, SAIL and other companies. Addressing a press conference, Das lashed out at Hemant Soren led Government on the industrial policies.

Das claimed that by delaying the lease renewal, the government wanted to generate funds for Assembly polls. The outburst comes in the wake of the state government ordering shutdown of 12 of the 17 working iron ore mines in Jharkhand, which directly hits mines of SAIL, Tata Steel and other prominent private miners.

I can confidently say that the JMM and Congress want to generate funds in Jharkhand by striking deals with the companies for lease agreements on their own terms. The state government is blaming the Centre and the court for the plight of SAIL and Tata Steels failure to get its lease renewed, but is running away from its responsibilities. He further said that Hemant Soren government lacked vision to run a state.

Hemant Soren government does not have the visions to make Jharkhand prosperous. The ministers too dont know how to run a state, the BJP leader said. He further said that Hemant Sorens days as the head of Jharkhand were numbered as the people would teach him and his party (JMM) a lesson in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The BJP leader said the companies had submitted their lease renewal applications a year before they expired but the state government sat over them, taking advantage of the earlier deemed extension clause under Mineral Concessions Rules.

Das demanded a probe against the ministers of Hemant Soren led state government for their alleged disproportionate assets accumulated ever since the formation of separate state Jharkhand.

I am of the opinion that the leaders failed miserably to ensure the progress of the local people ever since Jharkhand was formed. A probe must be called into their assets and wealth accumulated from more than decade now, noted Das.

Later he said the Congress Party is responsible for favouring corruption and giving rise poverty in the State. Just for the sake of rigging funds and resources of the State, Congress leaders conspired to topple BJP Government.
