Jamshedpur, Nov 18: All universities of Jharkhand may soon have just five working days a week instead of five.
According to sources, Kolhan University authorities have sent a proposal in this regard to all its constituent colleges and sought the opinion of teachers. As per the proposal, the college teachers will have to teach from 9.30 am till 5.30 pm on all days except Saturdays and Sundays. This rule is already in effect in Central universities and several other prominent universities.
A meeting was convened in this regard at Jamshedpur Cooperative College. It was chaired by the Principal Dr Amar Singh. The proposal got the support of 70 per cent teachers who signed the same, said Dr Singh, who has informed the university about the opionion of teachers. The teachers of LBSM College, Karandih, are going to hold a meeting on the proposal on 22nd November. Similar meetings would be held at Karim City College and Graduate School College for Women.
Dr PK Pani, Spokesperson of Kolhan University, the reports from all colleges would be discussed at the Syndicate meeting of KU for final decision on the matter.
