Police maintain silence, arrested duo taken to Ranchi for interrogation

Jamshedpur, Nov 12: Jharkhand police continued to gain success against rebels in the form of arrest and surrender of top leaders by nabbing CPI (Maoist) politburo member Prashant Bose alias Kishan Da, carrying a reward of Rs 1 crore on his head on Friday from Seraikela-Tata Main Road.

Kishan das who is the central committee of the outlawed organisation was arrested his wife Sheela Marandi in Saraikela, while going from Parasnath Hill in Giridih to Saranda on a car, on the basis of instruction of DGP Jharkhand.

In the last few months, the Seraikela Police has played an important role in the campaign against Naxalism by playing a key role in the arrest of many top leaders of Naxalites. Only a few months ago, the Naxalite commander Maharaj Pramanik of Ranchi, Chaibasa, Jamshedpur, Seraikela areas, including several members of the squad, had been arrested.

The police and central agencies of many states including Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa were behind this Maoist for more than four decades. But till date he was never been arrested.

A few years back the news of his death also surfaced but the news turned out to be false. Many times he was also surrounded during the campaign of Naxalites. But he had escaped on all occasions.

However,  police are maintaining silence and his arrest has not been officially confirmed yet. No big police officer is saying anything on this issue. Monitoring of this entire campaign is being done directly by the DGP of Jharkhand. Due to which everyone is avoiding giving statement regarding his arrest.

The DGP of Jharkhand Police, Niraj Sinha had received a tip-off about Prashant Bose going through Seraikela. After this information received by Intelligence, a raid team was prepared in a very secretive manner and on Seraikela Tata main road, and the rebel leader and his wife was arrested while they were going like normal citizens in a car without any armed men or convoy. After his arrest, he was taken to Ranchi secretly for interrogation.

The arrest of Naxalite Commander Maharaj Pramanik, active in many adjoining districts including Seraikela from Ichagarh in Seraikela about two months ago, is proving to be a milestone for Jharkhand Police.

From the inputs received from Maharaj police have been able to detect not only ID bombs, weapons are being recovered continuously in various areas.

Rather, many Naxalite commanders and leaders are surrendering, but arrests are also taking place. Such speculations are being made that on the basis of the input of Maharaj Pramanik, the biggest leader of Naxalite and think tank of Naxalites Prashant Bose has been arrested. After the arrest of Maharaj Pramanik, it can be said on the basis of the success that the Jharkhand Police is getting for the last few months that within a few months, the Jharkhand Police has achieved a lot of success against the Naxalites. Due to which the power of Naxalites has become very weak.

Prashant Bose alias Kishan has been considered the mastermind of more than 100 Naxalite incidents in Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. Reward has been announced in many states on Prashant Bose. He had married Sheela, a tribal woman from Navatand, Tundi in Dhanbad district.
