Tata Steel will continue to nurture talents in its sports academies: Atrayee Sanyal
Jamshedpur, Nov 12: West Bengal’s Keshav Goel bagged a double crown at the Tata Steel AITA Championship Series 2021, held at the Deco Turf courts of the JRD Tata Sports Complex, on Friday, November 12.
Goel, seeded 2 in the Boys Singles Under 18 category, did not have to sweat much against statemate Shivam Khanna as the latter seemed too rusty and offered numerous free points to the 2nd seed. Goel won the finals by 6-1,6-3.

Goel, partnering Tamoghna Das, had already lifted the Boys Doubles Under 18 crown last evening. The duo got the better of Steven Ankit Ekka and Shubham Sarangi from Odisha by a straight 6-2, 6-2.

In the Girls Singles Under 18, top seeded Sumeira Jaiswal did complete justice to her billing as she claimed the champion’s trophy drowning 2nd seeded Rituja Saha by a close 7-5,6-4.
It was Bengal all the way as Priyasakhi Sajnani and Kinza Shaikh won the Girls Doubles Under 18 crown overcoming 1st seeded Rituja Saha and Tanisha Roy of West Bengal 6-3,6-3.

Atrayee Sanyal, Vice President, Human Resource Management, Tata Steel was present at the prize distribution ceremony as the chief guest. She not only praised the newly done infrastructure but was also delighted to see the young talents travelling from all over the country in the hunt for valuable national ranking points. In her speech, she commented that “I may not have played tennis but I follow world tennis and that is why I encouraged my daughter to play this championship” she said adding Tata Steel will continue to support all form of sports and nurture talents in its sports academies.
