Jharkhand State Khadi Board interviews candidates for sewing classes

Jamshedpur, Dec 17: With the aim of promoting self-employment, sewing training is provided to women and girls by the Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board. Applicants were interviewed for the six-month training programme at Bistupur, Birsanagar and Ghorabandha centres. The interview board included Khadi Board’s Jamshedpur Centre manager Vibhuti Kumar, assistant trainer Nitu Singh and designer Ambika Bauri from the Board’s Ranchi office.

A total of 111 candidates appeared for the interview conducted at the Khadi Board’s Jamshedpur office in Q Road of Bistupur. While 25 candidates were selected for the training programme at the Dumaria centre, another 25 for the Bistupur centre, 25 for Birsanagar and 15 for Ghorabandha were selected.

Vibhuti Kumar Rai, while giving this information, stated that the trainees would receive a stipend amount of Rs 4,500 per month during the training period and after completion of the six month course they would get sewing machines to launch their earning ways. They will also be given certificates for the training they had undergone.  Rakesh Kumar, Sangit Kumari and other personnel assisted in conducting the interview.
