Ghatshila, Dec 17 : Childline members on Friday picked up the four orphaned siblings from Hiraganj village for taking them to Jamshedpur for appearance before the Magistrate, Satya Thakur. However, on the way, one of the siblings started vomiting near Galudih while the other three fell sick for which they could not be taken to Jamshedpur. The village head representative, Maso Soren and two other villagers were accompanying the children. Rakesh Mishra of of Childline stated that the children got sick probably because they were traveling in a car for the first time. Moreover, Mishra said that the children were nervous because of seeing so many people who were accompanying them to Jamshedpur. As such, they could not be physically presented before the Magistrate. The children were treated on the spot, and CWC chairperson and magistrate Satya Thakur was duly informed. The Childline personnel continued the presentation through video calling.

Satya Thakur ruled that the children were to be admitted to the Bethel School in Surda of Musabani for their education.

However, Maso Soren, the head representative of Kalchiti Panchayat, said that the children were very young and thus were not in a stage to adjust to new environs. He said that whatever facilities were to be provided to the children should be provided to them at the village. He said that all government facilities due to the four orphaned children would be monitored by a village committee.

On listening to Maso Soren’s argument, the Magistrate Satya Thakur ruled that Rs 2,000 per orphan sibling would be credited to their accounts every month to their educational expenses and their uncle would be authorized to withdraw the money from each account. She directed the village head’s representative, Maso Soren to ensure that the money was not misused. On his part, Soren assured that soon all norms would be inked out by a committee to be formed for the four orphaned siblings so that whatever they received were used for the intended purposes. Childline members Rakesh Mishra, Lakhi Charan Baskey, Urmila Tudu reached Hiraganj village to take the children to Jamshedpur.

Meanwhile, Maso Soren thanked The Avenue Mail for publishing the news of the four orphaned children in proper light as a result of which their misery came to light and help started pouring in.
