Jharkhand shines in Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team for FIH Junior World Cup

Ranchi: Hockey India has unveiled the roster for the Indian junior women’s hockey team set to compete in the FIH Hockey Women’s Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile, from November 29 to December 10. Notably, three talented players from Jharkhand, Ropani Kumari, Mahima Tete, and Deepika Soreng, have earned their spots on the team, representing both their home state and the nation on the global stage.

Hailing from the Simdega district of Jharkhand, these three players have demonstrated their prowess on the field, particularly earning recognition for their contributions to the gold medal-winning junior Indian women’s team in the Junior Women’s Asia Cup.

Deepika Soreng: A resident of Kargaguri in Kersai block.
Mahima Tete: A resident of Barkichapar in Sadar block and the younger sister of Olympian Salima Tete.
Ropani Kumari: Hailing from Jambahar in Thathaitangar block.
