Jharkhand High Court issues notice to Ranchi SSP and former Dhurva Police Station In-Charge

Ranchi: In a significant legal development, the Jharkhand High Court has issued notices to Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the then in-charge of Dhurva police station, Praveen Kumar, and Sub Inspector Narayan Soren. This notice follows the hearing of a criminal writ filed against Jharkhand Home Guard Welfare Association State General Secretary, Rajeev Kumar Tiwari, and Home Guard jawan, Krishna Yadav.

The criminal writ alleges assault, verbal abuse, filing a false FIR, and self-supervision of the case by the accused. The High Court, presided over by Justice Anil Kumar Chaudhary, heard the petition and directed all parties involved, including the accused and law enforcement officials, to submit their replies within six weeks.

Advocate Manoj Chaubey represented the applicants, State General Secretary Rajeev Kumar Tiwari and Home Guard Jawan Krishna Yadav, during the court proceedings. The issuance of notices indicates a serious examination of the allegations and emphasizes the High Court’s commitment to ensuring a fair and just legal process.
