Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome in Ranchi upon his arrival around 10 pm on Tuesday, commencing a two-day visit to Jharkhand. Amid tight security, he conducted a road show that drew thousands of enthusiastic onlookers along the route from Birsa Munda airport. Governor CP Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Hemant Soren extended the welcome at the airport.

The visit coincides with tribal icon Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary, also celebrated as Jharkhand’s statehood day on November 15. To facilitate the roadshow, traffic restrictions were in place from 8 pm to 10:30 pm along the route to Raj Bhavan.

In anticipation of the roadshow, the entire route from the airport to Raj Bhavan and from Governor’s House to Birsa Munda Old Jail was declared a no-fly zone for drones from 6 pm on Tuesday to 11 pm on Wednesday, according to district administration officials.
