Jharkhand to be made a power hub: CM

Ranchi : Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that Jharkhand will be made a power hub and the govt. wants to provide all facilities to urban and rural areas alike.

With the govt. of India company, the state govt. is serious to install solar street lights even in rural areas. The CM said it after the MoU was signed between GOJ and E.E.S. L.

The CM said that the govt. will take help of EESL regarding giving solar pumps to farmers. In the first phase, the govt. has targeted to install 2000 street lights by the end of March, 2017.

After the MoU was signed between GOJ and E.E.S. L, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department Mr. Arun Kumar Singh said that Jharkhand is the third state to be connected with this scheme.

EESL will have responsibility to install LED street lights which will be maintenance free. A central control room will be made to monitor it.

The control room will be aware of technical defaults and electricity consumption. After lodging a complaint of a dysfunctional street light, the same will be repaired within 72 hours by the company. Smart meters will be installed on every pole showing electricity consumption.

EESL MD Mr. Saurabh Kumar said that the company will install street lights in 100 block head-quarters. Payment will be done as per performance of the company.

Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma, Additional Chief Secretary �cum-Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Additional Chief Secretary R. K. Srivastava, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar, Principal Secretary, RDD N.N. Sinha and other senior officers were present on this occasion.
