Jamshedpur Rotary Clubs send relief materials to flood hit Begusarai

Jamshedpur, August 31: With Bihar reeling under one of the worst floods ever, people and organisations from across the country are trying to help out the people of Bihar by contributing in any small manner possible.

On Wednesday, August 31, Several units of Rotary Clubs in Jamshedpur including ( Rotary club of Jamshedpur West, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur, Rotary Club of Dalma , Rotary club of Femina, Rotary club of Jamshedpur East, Rotary Couples , Steel City and Midtown ) sent a truck full of goods which would assist the people of Bihar in this crisis situation.

The Club members helped sent 8000 kg of bleaching powder, 500 battery operated torch, 150 nos of Plastic Sheets to flood affected people of Begusarai and adjoining region. The goods will be delivered on Thursday, September 1 at the destination.

Bleaching powder is needed in urgent basis to take care of health issues which may take many lives once flood water recedes.

They are also in great need of torches and polythene sheets. Administration is also very happy with the rotary club’s move since availability of bleaching powder in large quantity is a matter of concern.

The vehicle was flagged off by Dist Secretary Pratim Banerjee, Suchanda Banerjee, Alakananda Bakshi and Capt Manish for Begusarai.
