Jamshedpur: Godda MLA Sanjay Prasad Yadav, who was recently appointed as a Labour minister from the RJD quota, visited the ancient Devri temple located on Ranchi-Tata National Highway No. 33 on Saturday. Accompanied by his family, the minister offered prayers at the temple and sought blessings from Maa Devri for the prosperity of the state. During his visit, he expressed his deep faith in the goddess and shared his vision for the state’s development.

In a conversation with the media, Minister Yadav outlined his key priorities, stating, “The first priority of the present government will be to stop migration from the state. We will take necessary policy decisions to address the needs of the industry and ensure that workers receive minimum wages.” He emphasized that the government’s working style will be inclusive, benefiting all sections of society. “Every effort will be made to live up to the expectations placed on me by Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Soon, the people of the state will witness the positive outcomes of these efforts,” he added.

Yadav’s comments come after the formation of the Mahagathbandhan government in the state, which was facilitated through the collective efforts of RJD leaders, including Purendra Narayan Singh, former Vice President of Adityapur Municipal Council. Singh had earlier prayed at Maa Devri’s temple for the success of the Mahagathbandhan and the inclusion of RJD in a prominent position within the government. Speaking on the occasion, Singh expressed his gratitude to the goddess, stating, “What I asked for from Maa Devri has been granted. Now, the Mahagathbandhan government must work seriously to ensure the state’s prosperity.”

Singh also stressed the need for the government to focus on addressing issues in the Kolhan division, which is considered an industrial hub. He criticized the previous government’s policies for causing worker exploitation, stating that minimum wages were not being provided, and migration was not being controlled. “Many companies are closed, and policy changes are necessary to restore the state’s prosperity,” Singh said, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the public’s expectations.

The minister’s visit was welcomed by Nitesh Raj, state general secretary of INTUC and assistant secretary of Tata Workers Union, who expressed his satisfaction over the formation of the Mahagathbandhan government. He also raised concerns about worker welfare, stating, “Migration will only stop when the minimum wage rate is implemented in the state, and biometric attendance is made mandatory for workers.”

On this occasion, several senior RJD leaders, including SN Yadav, SD Prasad, Sakla Mardi, and Ajay Kumar, were present to show their support.
