Jharkhand karate players win 9 medals, felicitated

Jamshedpur, March 5: Nine karate players of Jharkhand under the aegis of Jharkhand State Karate Do Association participated in the 29th AIKF National Karate Championship held on 27 and 28 December 2017 in Haridwar and won nine medals. Jharkhand players won 2 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals in the championship which saw participation of 1200 players from 28 states. The medal winners were awarded with a book on Raj Bhawan by the Jharkhand Governor Draupadi Mumru during a function held at Raj Bhawan in Ranchi on February 27. Jharkhand State Karate Do Association’s general secretary L Nageshwar Rao, Sandeep Kumar, Shehzad Qureshi and Bharat Bhusan were also felicitated with a book. The medal winning players from Jharkhand include Jamshedpur’s Kumari Puja Rani, Neeraj Kumar and Priyanshu Raj, Ranchi’s Manjeet Kumar Singh, Ankan Mandal, Kumari Tumpa Kar, Rinki Kumari, Kumari Punam Munda and Latehar’s Ashish Kumar Chouhan.
