Seraikela: Jharkhand government is providing a number of amenities and support to Naxalites who have surrendered under its Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy in a bid to bring them to the social mainstream. This would give a fillip to the pace of development in the state. Following this policy, the Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration has begun efforts to rehabilitate former Naxalite Joseph Purty.
Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Rajnaj held a meeting on Monday to review measures taken by the district administration so far regarding proposed rehabilitation of Joseph Purty. The DC said vocation training would be given to a daughter of Joseph Purty. Training would also be given to his son who is presently at large. One more daughter of Purty would be given admission in Kasturba Gandhi Residential School in Chandil while his second son is studying in Hazaribagh. His expenses are being borne by the state government.
So far Purty has been given Rs 3 lakh and four decimal land in Chowka. His parents have been given old age pension.
