Jharkhand heat wave: Jamshedpur records high of 42.6°C

Jamshedpur, April 24: Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, experienced scorching heat on Wednesday, with temperatures soaring across the state. Godda recorded the highest temperature at 44.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Baharagora at 43.7 degrees Celsius. Seraikela touched 43.4 degrees, while Jamshedpur peaked at 42.6 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the state, warning of a heat wave for the next four days. Alerts have also been issued for East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts in the Kolhan division, as well as Bokaro and Dhanbad districts in the North Chhotanagpur division. Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahibganj districts in the Santal division are also on high alert. Residents have been advised to take precautions as temperatures are expected to rise rapidly in the coming days.
