Jharkhand Govt teachers rue reduction of JAC copy check fee

Jamshedpur, May 16: The teachers of government plus two high schools evaluated Board examination answer sheets by wearing black badges in protest here on Monday, sources said.

According to sources, the teachers are protesting the decision of Jharkhand Academic Council to pay Rs 10 per copy to the evaluators. JAC has also asked every teacher to check at least 70 copies a day. Earlier, the teachers used to check 35 copies a day for Rs 20 per copy.

Members of teachers’ union have opposed the JAC decision and demanded better fees for evaluation of answer sheets.

There are a total of seven evaluation centres in East Singhbhum for 10th and 12th Board exams. Every day, 12 teachers are checking the copies, sources said.
