Jharkhand Government’s Future in Doubt: MLA Saryu Roy

Ranchi: In a significant development, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has voiced concerns about the fate of the Hemant government in Jharkhand, predicting that it may not survive beyond December. Addressing the representative conference of Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha at Krishna Palace in Ranchi, Saryu Roy highlighted several issues plaguing the state government.

Roy expressed his apprehension, citing a lack of adherence to the law and a worrying rise in corruption within the state. He claimed that despite his repeated written complaints to the Chief Minister regarding corrupt practices and individuals, there had been no effective action taken to rectify these irregularities.

The MLA further criticized the government for its failure to act on evidence-backed facts presented in the Assembly, even in the face of the Speaker’s instructions. Roy raised questions about the government’s approach to investigating corruption charges, noting that while most governments seek reports within 30 days, Jharkhand had seen no reports for three years, implying an inadequate response to corruption issues.

Saryu Roy also drew attention to concerns regarding the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) impartiality, with some people alleging that it takes action primarily against opposition parties. He called on those with concerns to make their evidence public if they believe there is a bias within the ED.

The representative assembly also heard from various leaders, including Morcha’s Central Secretary Somen Dutta, Central Vice President PN Singh, and Dhanbad District President Uday Singh, among others. The conference was attended by numerous party officials and workers from various districts.
