Ranchi, Mar 22: Following heavy rains and hailstorms that damaged crops across Jharkhand, the state government has initiated an assessment of the losses. Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey, in consultation with Disaster Management Minister Irfan Ansari, has directed officials to expedite the compensation process.

“We understand the distress of farmers who have suffered heavy crop damage. Our priority is to ensure quick relief,” Tirkey stated.

Officials in all five blocks of the Mandar assembly constituency have begun on-the-ground assessments, with instructions to submit detailed reports within three days. Farmers have reported extensive damage to their crops, making immediate assistance crucial.

“Based on the reports, we will ensure that compensation reaches affected farmers as soon as possible,” Tirkey assured. Disaster Management Minister Irfan Ansari also emphasized the government’s commitment, stating, “We are taking every necessary step to support our farmers during this crisis.”

The initiative aims to provide much-needed relief to struggling farmers, many of whom rely solely on their agricultural yield for survival.
