Jamshedpur, Mar 22: Senior BJP leader Appa Rao has officially staked his claim for the post of BJP Mahanagar President. A long-time member of the party, Appa Rao has been associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1985.
Over the years, he has held several key positions, including serving as the divisional minister in Golmuri. During Arjun Munda’s tenure as Chief Minister in 2006, Rao was a member of the Block 20 Point program and later represented the district supply monitoring committee under Raghuvar Das’s leadership.
In 2012, he was appointed BJP Mahanagar District Minister and later became the Vice President in 2015. Speaking about his claim for the new role, Appa Rao stated, “Till today, I have never asked for anything from the organization.”
His candidacy will now be reviewed as part of the party’s selection process.
