Chaibasa, Jan 5: Jharkhand director general of police (DGP) Neeraj Sinha
on Wednesday on Wednesday paid tributes to martyred bodyguards of former MLA Gurcharan Nayak in Chaibasa.
DGP was accompanied by CRPF IG (Operations), Kolhan Commissioner Manoj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of the district, Ananya Mittal, SP Ajay Linda.
Later, DGP Neeraj Sinha provided immediate financial help to the families of the martyrs for the last rites and informed the kin of the deceased that insurance money of Rs 45 lakh along with Rs 25 lakh compensation and final pay settlement will be provided in one lump sum while the family members will also be given a job.

DGP further said that we will launch investigation into the case. The family members of the slain bodyguards raised questions as to how former MLA Gurcharan Nayak survived the incident when it was his duty to help the bodyguards. DGP said that the thorough investigation will be launched into the same.
It is worth mentioning that suspected Maoists attacked former Manoharpur BJP MLA Gurcharan Nayak, in Jheelruwan of Goilkera police station area of West Singhbhum district on Tuesday evening.
The former MLA managed to save his life narrowly in the attack.
As soon as the Naxalites attacked, the former MLA along with a bodyguard somehow managed to leave the spot. After reaching Sonua police station, he gave complete information to the police. The former MLA was accompanied by three bodyguards when the Naxalites attacked.
