Ranchi, April 17: Opposition has started against Deepika Pandey Singh of Congress, who was declared the candidate of INDIA bloc from Godda parliamentary seat.

Deoghar district Congress committee has written a letter to the party’s national president Mallikarjun Kharge, demanding reconsideration of the name of the candidate from Godda parliamentary seat.

The District Committee has told the National President that 90 percent of the population of the area was ignored. The District Committee says that 90 percent of the population in Godda Parliamentary Constituency is backward, Dalit, tribal and minorities. The protesting Congress workers and supporters argue that Deepika Pandey Singh will prove to be a weak and dummy candidate here.

The Committee has argued that from the announcement of the candidate it seems that the central leadership has not been made aware of the actual situation on the ground. The committee said that 90 percent of the population is unhappy with the party’s decision.

The committee has alleged that by giving a weak candidate, the party has given a walkover to the opposition. In a warning tone, the committee members have asked the national president to reconsider the name of the candidate within seven days, otherwise they will all collectively resign from the party and post.
