Ranchi, April 17: Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren in his social media handle has clarified that the video and news of bricks and stones seen on the roofs of some houses in Hindpiri, Lake Road and Main Road of Ranchi was distortion of facts to give communal angle.
By issuing a post on X, Champai Soren has said that do not spread rumors about bricks and stones being found on the roof.
“The owners of the houses on the roof of which this construction material was found come from different communities. Some media organizations are running misleading news regarding this, this should be stopped,” the post added.
“Since yesterday some social media handles are spreading misleading news about some houses in Hindpiri, Ranchi having bricks, stones etc. Ranchi Police has clarified that during routine check, construction material was found on the roofs of 10-11 houses, which has been removed. Some of these houses are recently built, while some are still under construction. The police have also clarified that the owners of these houses come from different communities,” Soren post claimed.
“Do not pay attention to such rumours. Jharkhand Police has been directed to take appropriate action against those spreading such rumours,” the post concludes.
Incidentally, Ranchi police had inspected through drone surveillance roof tops of the houses on April 15. During this time, bricks and stones were seen on the roofs of some houses in Lake Road, Hindpiri and Main Road.
The district administration ordered its immediate removal.
