Ranchi, April 11: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday presented to Sahibganj district several development schemes from Bhognadih, the land of tribal martyr Sido-Kanhu and his home constituency, Barhait.

He launched 2080 schemes worth Rs 75392.09 lakh, laid foundation stones, and distributed assets worth Rs 391 lakh to 206 beneficiaries.

The chief minister also launched a Measles-Rubella special vaccination campaign in nine districts of the state, as well as a membership drive for PACS-LAMPS under the Sido Kanhu Agriculture and Forest Produce Association.

On the occasion, he reaffirmed his commitment to visiting villages to learn about their conditions and to implement development plans as needed.

“The government’s voice, vision, and plans are now reaching every village. Previously, plans were made and completed in air-conditioned offices. However, following the formation of a separate Jharkhand state, our government has worked for the last two decades to change this practice. An army of officers is now reaching your doorstep with schemes and your problems are being solved by setting up camps in panchayats,” he said.

Chief minister Soren said the state government will establish better communication with villagers in days to come with the help of modern technology. “Now more and more people will be connected together through technology. LED vans will also be used for this. The government is committed to remove the miseries of the common people. Apart from this, camps are being organized for the information of welfare schemes to reach every house and now publicity will be spread in a planned manner,” he said.

He on the occasion also assured better prices for agricultural and forest produce.

“Now agriculture and forest produce will get a fair price along with the market. For this, the minimum support price (MSP) of these products will also be fixed and for this the government has formed the Sido Kanhu Agriculture and Forest Produce Association. For this, PAC-LAMPS are being given financial strength,” he said.

The chief minister on the occasion asked the government servants to carry on their responsibilities properly.

“You have an important responsibility in putting the plans on the ground. With everyone’s efforts, the state can be placed in the category of developed states. There are schemes for every class and section and people should take advantage of it,” he said.

The chief minister also talked about better education for children.
