Jharkhand CM seeks Centre’s cooperation in state’s uplift at NITI Aayog meet

Ranchi, May  24: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren participated in the NITI Aayog meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed key issues related to the development of the state.

Chief Minister Soren urged the NITI Aayog to bring flexibility and adaptability in the development plans of the state keeping in mind the geographical and social structure of Jharkhand.

The main objective of the meeting is to increase coordination between the states and the Center, review development plans and build consensus on national priorities.

Hemant Soren said that special cooperation is needed from the Center for the development of tribal and backward areas in the state.

He demanded better implementation of the Center’s schemes in areas like education, health, irrigation, agriculture and employment generation and more financial assistance to the state.

Chief Minister Soren said that cooperation from the Center is necessary to speed up development plans in Jharkhand and NITI Aayog can play an important role in this direction.

Topics like green development, expansion of infrastructure, Digital India mission, water conservation and expansion of health facilities were discussed in the meeting.

Prime Minister Modi called upon all the Chief Ministers to expedite the development work in their respective states and work together with the central government.
